Unusual wedding venues in London

If your ideal wedding venue is something a little out of the ordinary, we think the following options may well be just the kind of thing you’re after.

Sake no Hana

One of the greatest aspects of Sake no Hana is the old-meets-new styling, given that it’s found inside a building that is Grade II listed and yet features a wonderful modern aesthetic courtesy of revered Japanese architect, Kengo Kuma. It’s not just the décor that has a distinct Japanese flavour however, with the menu boasting deliciously tempting Asian cuisine that would make for a wonderful alternative to the traditional wedding meal. Found in the heart of Mayfair, it sits just five minutes from Green Park station.

Pewterers’ Hall

Though Pewterers’ Hall has the look and feel of a grand, old-school banqueting hall, complete with wood panelling, ornate ceilings and general period charm, it is in fact decidedly more intimate in capacity than would typically be the norm for such a space, accommodating receptions for up to 100 people. Also well connected to the wider city, the nearest tube links include St Paul’s and Moorgate, both of which can be reached in around five minutes or so.

CNB Gallery

CNB Gallery is situated within a former tram-generator building, giving it a distinctly urban, London vibe, which is perfectly in keeping with its location in the East End’s trendy area of Shoreditch. Being home to a chicken and steak restaurant, you can rest assured that tasty food will be in ample supply to keep your guests satisfied, of whom you can invite up to 250 in total. As for getting there, Old Street and Shoreditch High Street tube stations are both within easy walking distance.

Jones & Sons

With lots of experience hosting weddings and other functions already under their belts, you’ll be in safe hands with the team and Jones & Son. In addition to the main restaurant, there is a 1100 square foot function room ideal for private receptions. There are lots of options when it comes to the catering, and other handy features including a movable bar and full audio and visual capabilities should you have any entertainment needs to be met. The venue itself can be found just a stone’s throw from Dalston Kingsland.

Masonic Temple

If you want the scale of your reception to be much more low-key, inviting only your nearest and dearest, and yet don’t want to have to sacrifice any of the sense of important and decadence from the occasion, Masonic Temple is well worth considering with its capacity of just 60 and its simply stunning interiors. Complete in an authentic Grecian style with magnificent marble and original features, it’s a space that is guaranteed to bring the wow factor.
