Best warehouse wedding venues in London

Warehouse venues are ideal for wedding receptions, given the fact that they are often generously proportioned, offering open and adaptable space that you can really make your own. With that in mind, here are some of London’s very best warehouses to consider for your big day.

Village Underground

Though it has been renovated to keep it bang up-to-date with regards to the capital’s vibrant events scene, Village Underground still retains the charm and character of its past, with the space dating back to the turn of the century and still boasting many of the original features that give it a distinctly urban and unmistakably London flair. Having hosted everything from photographic exhibitions to club nights, you get some idea as to just how flexible the space is.

Studio Spaces E1

Studio Spaces E1 is comprised of 3 multi-purpose studios which stem from a central kitchen and lounge area: The White Studio, with its floor-to-ceiling south facing windows; The Black Studio, one of the few blackout studios available in London; and The Warehouse, a vast and adaptable event space. These can be hired individually or as a package deal, allowing for a maximum capacity of as many as 1250, making it a particularly great choice for large scale receptions.

Spegelstein Works

Having once been a metal working factory in the 1920s, Spegelstein Works is ideal for those who want to capitalise on the ever-growing trend for stripped-back, industrial spaces. Large sections of raw warehouse interior are being opened up for creative purposes for the first time, following development from new owners, meaning the venue now serves as a spacious, 700-person capacity event space. Found in Hackney Wick, it sits just a few minutes from the station of the same name.

Oval Space

Offering 5000 square feet of unobstructed event space and set against the backdrop of the striking Bethnal Green Gas Holders, Oval Space has catered to a wide variety of events in its time. Large windows let plenty of natural light into the interior, whilst outside there are two terraces framing the venue, serving as wonderful extra reception space that is perfect for a summer BBQ. Altogether, this means there is ample room for up to a generous 1000 people, so you needn’t worry about having to scrimp on the guest list.

Shoreditch Studios

Tucked beneath two Victorian railway arches, Shoreditch Studios is brimming with distinctive features characteristic of the era, including extensive exposed brickwork and curved ceilings. Additional spaces include a mezzanine above the main area and a good-sized outdoor courtyard, as well as dressing rooms and a kitchenette. The total capacity allows for around 350 guests in all, and handy nearby rail links include Old Street, Shoreditch High Street and Liverpool Street.
