Top large Indian wedding venues in London

Traditional Indian weddings have become known around the world for being a festival of bright, vibrant colours and a hub of fun and celebration. Luckily, London has a whole host of excellent venue options that make it possible to throw an Indian wedding that is just as authentic and one that is sure to be remembered by all your guests. Here is a selection of some of the best.

The Troxy

Troxy first opened to the public as an impressive and spacious cinema back in the 1930s. Now, as a grade II listed building, it makes for a wonderful multi-purpose event space. With many tastefully retained original features giving Troxy a sense of grandeur, the generous 1800 person capacity Main Hall, finished in a beautiful Art Deco style, is perfect for a large scale Indian wedding, with ample room for all your guests to get involved in the bustling party atmosphere. Despite its historical beginnings, you will now find all the necessary mod cons to help your wedding run smoothly, including a cutting-edge PA and lighting system and good air conditioning.

Drapers’ Hall

Draper's Hall

Drapers’ Hall is a versatile event space that can be tailored to many different party styles. If for example, you wanted to kick things off with a more formal seated dinner, they can accommodate 270 guests. Once the reception is in full swing however, you can have up to 700 guests joining in the celebrations. No matter the style you opt for, this well connected central London venue is undoubtedly breath taking in its beauty. The glorious artwork and striking decorative walls and ceilings throughout are sure to impress each and every one of the partygoers, with the splendour setting the vibe for a wedding never to be forgotten.

Royal Horticultural Halls

Royal Horticultural Halls

This Edwardian era venue also has a maximum capacity of 700 but offers a different ambience altogether. The iconic arched ceiling of The Lindley Hall makes for an eye catching feature at any event, while the wide open space itself has something of a blank canvas feel, ripe for being converted into the wedding venue of your dreams. One of the Royal Horticultural Halls’ best bonuses is the immense amount of light it grants to the occasion, while the close proximity of Victoria train station and both Pimlico and St James Park tube stations is very useful in ensuring all your guests can easily make their way here.

Alexandra Palace

Alexandra Palace

If you want your wedding to be a truly huge occasion then you could choose to hold it at Alexandra Palace, which has already hosted any number of important events and high profile performers. With 196 acres of its own parkland and stunning views of London’s enchanting skyline, this beautiful and highly flexible venue has several connected indoor and outdoor spaces you can utilise to bring your wedding to fruition. Its namesake train station is just a handy 8 minute walk away, not to mention the 1500 capacity onsite carpark, making it very easily reached by your guests, of which you can invite up to an immensely generous 10,000 in total.

East Wintergarden

East Wintergarden

The East Wintergarden is a unique venue found in the very heart of Canary Wharf and is an excellent choice if you want your wedding to have a more contemporary feel. The key feature here is the 27m high domed glass ceiling, which floods the space with beautiful natural light and creates that modern vibe. The space itself can be adapted to fit many different needs, with all sorts of celebrations and gatherings being hosted here regularly. There are several different areas available, which can be hired separately if need be, with events here able to host up to 1250 guests in total, who can make use of the nearby transport links.
