The Space

Boasting a fantastically central location right opposite the Royal Opera House in the heart of ‘Theatreland’, this iconic Covent Garden pub dates from 1763 and, through its original link with Bow Street Magistrates Court, was witness to the formation of the Bow Street Runners, widely acknowledged to be Britain’s first police force. The pub was almost certainly used by them and has a cell in the basement that was used to house prisoners!

Decorated throughout with fascinating historical artefacts, the Bow Street Tavern’s five floors offer a choice of spaces for any social gathering or event. if you’re in the mood to party, choose from one of our five unique party spaces (including the Rooftop Terrace) and put our events team to work to plan the perfect event.
