Cool wedding venues in the East End

The East End of London is known for its trendy vibes and that makes it the perfect location in which to hold a wedding. Here are some of the coolest places on offer throughout the area, narrowing your choice and hopefully bringing you closer to your ideal venue.

Wilberforce and Quayside

wilberforce and quayside

Wilberforce and Quayside is found within The Museum of London Docklands, a venue that offers the wonderful contrast of a love and embracement of the past and views out onto Canary Wharf’s futuristic skyline. This former Georgian warehouse is Grade I listed and dates all the way back to 1802, with the original pine columns and flooring still in place, bringing an instant hit of character to the venue. The total capacity is a very generous 800 and the nearest transport links include the likes of Canary Wharf and Westferry.

York Hall

york hall

York Hall is a grand, Neo Georgian building built in 1929 and found in the Bethnal Green area, just 5 minutes from the tube station of the same name and less than 10 minutes from Cambridge Heath train station, meaning it’s well connected and easily reachable for all your guests, of whom you can invite up to as many as 1000. In addition to the main hall, spaces include a good-sized balcony, a spa, a swimming pool, a bar and a fully-fitted kitchen, among others.

The Troxy

The TroxyFirst opened as a cinema in the 1930s, The Troxy’s stylish art deco aesthetic has remained intact throughout the years and throughout the venue’s transformation into a multi-purpose event space. Now sitting alongside original, characterful features are a state-of-the-art PA and lighting system and air conditioning, ensuring maximum convenience and comfort. Its vast size means it has a maximum capacity of a whopping 1800, so you certainly needn’t be stingy when it comes to writing the guest list.

Beach Blanket Babylon – Shoreditch

Beach Blanket Babylon is spread across a total of 3 floors, and its range of different spaces, each complete in its own unique style, means it has been able to turn its hand to a whole plethora of different event types, from product launches to private dinners, and from conferences to wedding receptions. Another well-proportioned venue, it can accommodate up to 650 guests at a time, whilst the nearest rail links are Liverpool Street and Shoreditch High Street.

The Pavilions – Mile End Park

The Arts and Ecology Pavilions are offered up as blank canvases, providing you with ample space and a contemporary, neutral finish that allows you to get creative and transform them into your dream wedding venue. Don’t be fooled into thinking this means they lack personality however, as touches such as the striking pillars, glass walls and the charming outlook attest to the contrary. Both buildings have parking and loading space, so set up for the big day should be easily managed.

Old Billingsgate

old billingsgate wedding venue

Old Billingsgate has several different spaces available for hire, including a breath-taking terrace with unrivalled views of Tower Bridge, City Hall, The Shard and London Bridge, as well as a gallery area and a large vault space with interlinked arches and exposed brickwork for added character. The Grand Hall benefits from triple height ceilings and imposing iron pillars, but the layout for the venue at large can be tailored depending on your particular requirements. Definitely suited to large scale wedding as the capacity allows for a mammoth 1200 guests in all.
