The best tea party venues in London

A good old fashioned tea party is a quintessentially British way to celebrate and can suit almost any number of different occasions, from a corporate meeting to a special birthday and anything else in between. If you want to organise your very own tea party, no matter the cause, then here are some great London based venues where you could host it from.

Eighty Four Shoreditch

eighty four

Eighty Four Shoreditch is a warm and welcoming venue full of charm that is available for hire in Central London, just a few minutes from both Old Street roundabout and Old Street tube station, keeping it well connected to the rest of the city. It’s a café, bar and restaurant with a capacity of around 80 that comes with its very own fully equipped kitchen, should you wish to hire in caterers or take care of the refreshments yourself. It also comes fully licenced, should you wish to offer your guests something a little stronger once all the tea has been consumed.

The Punchbowl

The Punchbowl

The Punchbowl has the distinction of being one of the oldest pubs in the popular area of Mayfair. The private dining room on the second floor has the feel of a Victorian gambling den, thick with atmosphere courtesy of the rich leather and velvet furnishings and its dark wood touches. Meanwhile, the main Dining Room is finished in accents of cream and gold, tastefully upholding the glamourous and decadent reputation of its Mayfair location. With a maximum capacity of around 30, it’s a particularly great choice if you wanted your tea party to have a more intimate and personal touch.

The Dead Dolls House Peckham

dead dolls club peckham

The quirky name of The Dead Dolls House Peckham is a nod to its gothic feel, with the building itself dating right back to the 1870s when it was once a public house, and the interior harking back to that bygone era with its ornate sense of grandeur and black & white finish. You can expect to drink, dine and dance at Dead Dolls, and with a good maximum capacity of 200 and both Peckham Rye and Queens Road Peckham stations within comfortable walking distance (11 and 7 minutes respectively), no one need miss out on the fun.

Attendant Shoreditch

Attendant Shoreditch

Attendant Shoreditch has become known for its trademark green and white tiling but it’s the living plant wall running the length of the interior that really draws attention. This attractive venue is a bar with a self-contained kitchen (run by an acclaimed head chef) which can cater to events both private and corporate alike for up to 60 people, with a relaxed, laid-back vibe. Its handy East London location keeps it in the heart of the city’s action, surrounded by good transport links which include Old Street, Moorgate, Liverpool Street and Shoreditch High Street.
